City villa in Munich

A strict geometry and strong contrasts determine the design of the city villa, which is located in the centre of Munich at Herzogpark. The park area is one of the best residential areas in Munich. Thomas Mann and many other artists, scientists and celebrities were attracted to this place in the early twenties and thirties.

The building, designed and realised by the architects GKK & Partner, is impressive because of the structured arrangement of its façade. The colour white dominates the design of the outer shell. Dark window frames form the contrasting element. Light colours are mainly used inside the building. A well thought-out interplay of light and shadow creates contrasts and thus reinforces the exact lines of the architecture. Clear geometric shapes are also reflected in the interior.

The expressive 180 hardware series in full stainless steel was used on the doors and windows. The fittings are milled from solid stainless steel and thus receive their own independent contour. The design concept of Series 180, which is based on a rectangle, refers to the building's cuboid floor plan. The combination with square roses underlines the geometric design language of the lever handles.
